hey wassup guys, i have a 2004 gsxr 600, ever since i got da bike i havent done a full tune up, i have about 19,920 miles. lol i kno a shit load. i put 6k miles within 8months. i need a list of the parts i need to do a full tune up myself. is it really hard? the local shop is chargin me $280, i can get the LOR exhaust with that so im tryin to save.
i called a shop in brooklyn and asked for the price on a full tune up. they said $180. i said not bad wat exactly is a full tune tune up?. he said oil, spark plugs, air filter, lube the chain, check the tire pressure. i asked what about the valve adjustment?. he woke up and said wtf valve adjustment on a full tune up, idk what your talking about. So im confused myself.
I'm pushing 60,000 miles of hard riding,no commuting on my 05 600 and I've done all the maint. my self. Valve adjustment once at 32K, on my second clutch, few sets of plugs, on my third chain, second sprocket, re-charged K&N a few times, manual cam chain tensioner, radiator flush twice, new throttle cable, new fuel sending unit to fix low fuel light going bad, suspension re-freshed, tons of oil changes with Motul which I've used since day one, and that's about it. Nothing out of the ordinary...and nothing too expensive.
