OK, i know there probably are places that i can find my answer to but i dont feel like looking and i just want straight answers please. I am going to buy a -1/+2 sproket kit, my question is.....i am not sure what chain pitch to go with.. is there just a personal choice, or is one better to get. its going on a k8 gsxr 600... thanks for your help!
520 decreases rotational mass which is a good setup. the con is they wear out much quicker than your 525 oem setup therefore need to be replaced more often.

i've got 12,000 miles on a pit bull sprocket/did chain combo and the rear sprocket is flawless. the only way a 520 would wear out quicker is because you'd probably be using an aluminum rear sprocket. either way, its not like you're only going to get 3000 miles out of a 520.

Good to know you have so many miles with your setup. My Ek chain and aluminum rear go out much quicker than what you experience.
thanks man, did you see the driven sprocket install?
Yes (although I had already installed mine). Also I've been looking for a new set of boots and gloves and your reviews have greatly helped with that decision too

I have dropped cash at STG, SportbikeTrackGear.com, outstanding service and very quick and through responses to questions.
Plus they carry some very, very nice gear, IE Held gloves.
I would recommend a steel sprocket or 525 if you use your bike mostly for wheelies and want the absolute longest life out of your chain kit and if you don't care about the weight. For most everyone else a 520 chain kit will be fine. Nobody can really tell what you chain kit is right for you or gearing without knowing what you want out of it. 525 is a tad wider then a 520 so it will last a bit longer, but it does cost more and add weight. wheelies/wanting absolute longest life are the only two reasons I could see for sticking with a 525. Other issue is that with 525 you limit your gearing options as most manufacturers don't make 525 pitch sprockets in many different tooth counts.
Cool, well thanks for the info. what i want out of my bike is to give it a little bit more lower torque, and also to throw up wheelies a little bit easier.... it is my daily driver! so the chain/sprocket kit i was looking for is at motomummy.com, the driven chain kit with the black rear sprocket (45) and black EK MVXZ black 520 chain. sound good? they dont have the 525, only the 530... but i feel that 520 should be cool... cause the 530 is not worth it right?
Yes a 520 would be fine for the occasional wheelies. The Driven kit is what we use on our own bike and we have that in stock right now as well. If you want something longer lasting (if you do a wheelie or two everytime you ride) then I would go with the stealth or drive systems superlight chain kit as that's got a steel rear sprocket. But for the occasional wheelie the Driven 520 chain kit will be fine. I use it on both of my 1000cc bikes and average about 15k miles on each bike before I have to replace the chain kit. I don't do wheelies other then the occasional power wheelie on accident though.

The Suzukie Drive System chain kit has steal rear sprocket, is the front sprocket steal aswell?
all front sprockets are steel. if it were alum the little teeth on it would sheer off the minute you started your bike. Any other questions just post up...

Or you could be like me....cares less about the damn thing and runs it into the ground...
