GSXR400 panels (GK73A)

Last weekend my girlfriend got her first bike: a 1988 GSXR400 (GK73A). The bike is running fine and is now in for regular maintainance.
Unfortunately, it does have some optical damage. The rear right panel is cracked, and the top rear panel (behind the buddy seat) is cracked beyond repair. So now I'm looking for a place where I might get these panels. I've tried several forums, ebay, etc. I was hoping some of you might have some valuable tips for me.

If all else fails, I was thinking if the rear of a 1988 GSXR750 might fit?

Any other tips (like where to get a workshop manual) are very welcome.

Welcome to the Forum!

This is only an interim response for you.

The vast majority of this sub-forum's participants are generally from North America. There are some from Europe, the Middle East, Asia, Australia and South America who might be better positioned to give you a detailed response on a model that I believe was not generally available to North America.

Wait for others to reply.

i don't think the 750 tail will fit.

it looks like it may be too big, but you may be able to make it work.

Looking at like that, side by side, indeed it won't fit. Darn, another option out the window... these are hard to come by!

I have never even laid eyes on one of those 400's stateside. They never sold them here to my knowledge. Looks like a fun bike to roll with though! I would check with Airtech to see if they have a fiberglass tail you can use.

I'm from Holland and they weren't officially sold here either. I think a lot of 400's are grey imports from Japan, where they are very populair.

I've tried Airtech and Skidmarx already, no luck. I think a second hand one is my only hope....

I found this, but not sure if it's too expensive or will fit your model:http://www.k-conversions.co.uk/index...products_id=24

Good suggestions, but both are for the newer GK76A model, and not for the GK73A model. So they won't fit... BTW, the second link are side panels, I'm looking for the rear panels.
The first full body kit is awesome by the way. Wish that would fit!

Stumbled across this one myself, and I contacted the seller if he would sell some parts. No respons yet. Getting the entire bike would be nice, but getting it transported to Holland would be to costly.
