Do any of you guys wear mouth guards?

I have been thinking about using one next season.
Not only do they help with saving da teeth but they are also helpfull with stopping concussions if you hit your chin. Problem is choking hazard though.
I was almost thinking of making some kind of tight strap or string on my chinguard on my helmet which will tie down to the mouthguard. I would keep the tension kind of tight so incase I was to attempt to swallow it the string would help keep it from being swallowed.

So does anyone use a mouth guard?

Re: Do any of you guys wear mouth guards?

I tried using one in MX and it Don't Work The Way You Would Expect it to. If you get really winded or if you move your mouth in certain situations it kinda jacks up your concentration bacause you are concentrating on NOT CHOKING instead of the task at hand.

I know it's coming, So flame away you bastids...

hell I'm glad I'm not the only one that does that but after my last incedent I think I may not have quite so many problems next year I think proving if you play agressive I'll play really rough

mouthguards IIRC, are illegal in my league. choking hazard. though i think if something could be rigged up that would attach to the lid and not move further into your mouth in any way, like some football players have w/ them attached to the rails on their lids, i don't think they'd have a problem w/ it. i know a friend who uses it while riding on track. i'll have to ask him why.

Re: Do any of you guys wear mouth guards?

get a WIPS mouthguard. i use mine in MMA training, it helps with breathing, and it doesnt move around so chocking isnt a problem. much better than a regular mouthguard imo.

Re: Do any of you guys wear mouth guards?

I always used a mouth guard while playing hockey, kinda a rule thing, and of course u get winded. never had a problem with the breathign thing, but then again, the mouth guard was always attached to the facemask so u could just drop it out and start to breath heavily. guess u cnat really attach a mouth gurard to your helmet.

So wait ... it would look like you have some sort of tampon hanging out yer mouth?

Oral tampons are not the skinny way. Don't make me smack you.
