2008 hot stalling problem

I have a 2008 GSXR1000. When the bike is hot it always stalls once the RPMs are brought down to idle. When I refire the bike it will not idle, it keeps stalling. Any ideas?

Re: 2008 hot stalling problem

Is your bike stock? You usually get that when your lambda sensor is working bad (thats on a car) which fucks up the ECU.

If you want failing when rolling its not the injectors or anything else... anyway does your FI light comes up? You may have a leak anywhere?

Hope someone can help you better.

Re: 2008 hot stalling problem

sounds like the ISC (idle speed control) valve is hung up.. or bad.

Pretty sure the 2008's had the ISC recall done to them already.

What is your idle set at?

Should be set around 1250-1500. If it's set too low it can randomly die.

+1 on your idle being too low. should be around 1,300rpm when the bike is at operating temps.

Re: 2008 hot stalling problem

I already adjusted the idle up so I know its not that but it did improve the situation. I suspect it is the ISC valve so I may just plug it and reset the idle down.

are your spark plugs good? do you run a lot of race gas? the reason i ask is because some types of race gas can cause fueling problems if left in the tank for extended periods. also, how "hot" is your bike when you encounter the problem? i know if it creeps up around 200F the bike pulls timing, which makes the rpms fluctuate irregularly.

Re: 2008 hot stalling problem

You have a vacuum leak. Look for cracks, loose/missing connections hoses etc.....

Re: 2008 hot stalling problem

Checked for vacuum leaks, found none so I guess I will test the ISC valve operation via the manual.
