Yoshimura Trs Chop
Well I chopped my exhaust today.. Go some advice from a couple of guys and went with it and did it
TOOLS:
Saw's all
Revits*3/4"*
revits gun
drill with 1/2" bit
Pictures of the progress from start to finish:
SAW'S ALL IT DOWN WITH ABOUT 2 INCHES from the support brace
Drill out the old rivets.. Pull out the tip.. Get some Heat gasket maket.. Put it around the tip.. market where your new rivets go.. Drill the holes and set new rivets in. And this is your out come

Because I know what it is? And if it means that much to me I can always rivet it one whats left! but then it's UNDER the brace= ugly look!

Re: Yoshimura Trs Chop
Let me call Yoshimura and see if I can get one from them for the same price. Rather not waste your time if I can get a new one for the same price. I'll be in touch.
On a semi-related note: I was reading about repacking the exhaust. Couple of Q's:
Do any of you guys repack per the 7k-10k suggestion?
I heard that when you cut the exhaust you are supposed to repack. True?
When repacking, how many layers of wool do you put back on? I heard there are 5 on stock and most use 1-2. Thoughts?
(This one's probably a stupid one) - Where could I get the material to repack with?
check out the vid from Yoshimura on repacking the exhause if your interested:

Re: Yoshimura Trs Chop
The problem with chopping your exhaust is it can run hot. Mine's chopped and it tends to run super hot at times....anybody else having this problem?
