Wow.
The octane rating of your fuel has NOTHING to do with cleaning detergents or horsepower for that matter.
Higher octane fuel does not automatically equal more horsepower, and the only way it gives you more horsepower is if your motor was designed for it. (our motors are not)
The octane rating of fuel is simply its ability to resist detonation....and that is all. It IS NOT horespower in a bottle, and octane sure as hell doesn't have any magic cleaning power.

Re: Bike won't start after using NOS fuel additive
hmm, I'll try what Torque said. Seems like a lot of work though when the NOS probably had nothing to do with it. After all it was running like crap before.

NOS fuel additive is 95% kerosene. You just poured nearly a quart of kerosene into your tank.
Although you may want to check your owner's manual, I'm pretty sure your bike was not designed to run on - what is effectively - diesel fuel.

Re: Bike won't start after using NOS fuel additive
that NOS stuff isn't just *more octane* it's an additive full of cleaners ect. not a bottle of race fuel in a 6 oz bottle. think of it as using a cleaning product on something, but way overdoing it, then the color fades or surface bubbles. same concept..
Best thing for you to do is drain your fuel out, get some high test and pour about half a can of sea foam in it. you should be good to go... what i usually do is use sea foam or just run race fuel frequently (on my car, i don't know if bikes need adjusting for race fuel)

Re: Bike won't start after using NOS fuel additive
if you have cought it in time you should be fine, like said, drain your fuel and run what belongs in the tank with a half a can of sea foam. i believe half a can is good for like 5-20 gallons, so maybe even a bit less.

Re: Bike won't start after using NOS fuel additive
oh, and one more thing. if you go to walmart, cvs, ect you can get a bottle of store brand rubbing alcohol for like 1 dollar and use it as your cleaner. just make sure to get as close to 100% alcohol as possible. 1 dollar fuel cleaners are a hell of alot better then spending 8, just make sure you have full tank when using all of these.

Re: Bike won't start after using NOS fuel additive
Don't bother with the seafoam (or any other additive). Just drain the fuel, add fresh gasoline (whatever octane you normally use - race fuel is not necessary) and change the spark plugs.

Are you messing with us? Because the stuff that looks like a NOS bottle, IS an energy drink...I think you're screwin' with us...The fuel additive doesn't look like a NOS bottle...

Re: Bike won't start after using NOS fuel additive
No way is this thread serious.
I could understand a couple bottles of octane boost by ignorance.....but c'mon, it says "energy drink" right on the bottle.
I'm gonna call BS.

Re: Bike won't start after using NOS fuel additive
 WOW!! Epic is right.
My question is why would you put anything in your bike that you picked up next to the drink section?
