I've heard of one guy getting 50k miles on the clock before selling his bike and another guy got 99,999 km then his speedo stopped working. So if your bike has been maintained and in good running shape then it should go for a while.
im just curious, cause ther are a couple that i was looking at.
there's a 97 with 35000 kms and a 96 with 48000kms thats been jetted. other than that they are both stock. they want $5000 CAD. for each, but im not sure if it would be a good idea to get one with such high kms.
I could tell when running with a 99 750 that had only 2K miles on it. They would pull me in the bottom and mid range, so i did a set and I was at like 118 - 121psi, min spec is like 135psi. So I rebuilt it.. It was a lot better after that.
thanks for the info is there anything in particular
that you would suggest to look at before buying a bike
with those types of kms on it? im pretty sure i wont be able to ride it.
well I would check to make sure it doesnt blow smoke when it runs. And that there is not a lot of play in the head bearings or swingarm bearings. That is doesnt make a lot of noise. and that over all it looks in good shape. Chain and sprockets are ok, and tires are not trashed.
