I have an '01 Gix 600 and I've decided to make it a streetfighter.

First thing I did was rip all the fairings off and a wire tuck. I grabbed the harness and ran it back through this opening

The fuse box however does not fit through that small opening so I decided it would be a lot quicker to cut the harness and re-solder it together once I got it on the other side of the frame. Here's my friend helping me with the wiring:

I put the fuse box under the tank and zip-tied it to another harness so it wouldn't move around

and then I hid the rest of the wiring under the airbox

Then we did some minor rewiring on the headlight/gauge/turn signal harness. I had my friend snip the connection for the right side turn signal and extend it to the same length as the left side that way all the wires head to the front of the bike

The headlight was wired up using sqaure snap clips I got at radio shack. The main harness has the female end and the new headlight has the male end. I also put connectors on the stock connections in case I ever want to go back to full fairing. The purple tape is just to distinguish between the high and low beams

After all the wiring was rewired, tucked and hooked up I fired up the bike to make sure I didn't miss anything. Everything checked out. Here are some pics from the initial headlight mock up

I have the stock clip-ons flipped but I ordered vortex ones so I'm waiting on those to arrive along with a few other things. Stay tuned for more updates

Any Suggestions as far as where to relocate the stock horn?

kinda looks like mine:

though i did this to minimize the damage to bike if going down when pushing my limits on competitive track. and it happened twice.

i think a tail swap would make that street fighter look better. back end wouldnt look so big...some new shorty levers and a white front fender.

Shorty levers are in the mail and going to get the fender painted. What tail do you think would flow well? I saw someone with a 04 tail that looked pretty good.

old rusty stock header and all that other old stuff under there...?
You should at least get a 06 Ti header, would look cleaner.
I think it looks like poo poo but that's just me

Nice work with the wiring, looks good.
As was said before, do something about the exhaust if you're going to show it off like that!

That and I'm not big on the headlight/fairing setup... I'd like to see one of these with a ~99 SV headlight setup

i like the 04/05 tails but if your willing to do the work you could get someone to photoshop a newer tail on and see if u like them more and then tackle that. as for the exhaust i think if you bought some newer headers and had them coated a certain color it would look pretty sweet. polish that frame and powdercoat those headers a polished silver color. just an idea not sure wat ur into

Replaced the stator today.....I have a feeling my rectifier might actually be whats wrong with the charging system.

Vortex clip-ons flipped with Galinda F1 grips and crg shorty levers and bar end mirror. I still have to align them but you get the idea

What brand key less gas cap is that? I am very interested in buying one for my bike. I also think the gold color will match my red K3 600. Can I ask how much it costs?

Its a Harris Performance cap, it'll cost anywhere from 105-125 depending on who you buy it from.

Finally put on the Spiegler brake lines and used ATE super blue brake fluid.

I bought some plastics pretty cheap off someones ex-stunt bike. I'm going to repaint the fender and sides white. One side is broken at the bottom but for now zip-ties will do. I stripped the decals and here's what they look like on the bike.

Thanks! lol, nah never that I love the look of the bike and the attention it gets around here! Its like no one has ever seen a streetfighter'd bike. I will however get my hands on a k7/k8 after I finish paying off my car so I can play in the twisties still
