Sound of a faulty CCT?

I know guys its this friggin question again about the crap tensioner in the gixxer!! For all of us who havent experienced this problem I would like to know just exactly what this rattle or ticking this problem sounds like? is it like valve ticking? My 98 750 has 13000 klms and when I back off the throttle it makes a rattle sound like a loose reflector or like a washer loose on a bolt ? Just not sure exactly what it sounds like when the tensioner is bad? I have the oem tensioner in the bike so anyone with a more detailed sound or a sound that it resembles would be a help! There is also a slight ticking sound that never goes away more noticed at Idle. Thanks !!

Re: Sound of a faulty CCT?

I noticed, as I know many others also did, a deisel sound at idle. Even if it's not bad, it will eventually go bad and you're better off replacing it before something fucks up. Get the manual one from APE

Your are right most shops will say that so you shell out your engine and they can get more $$$$ out of ya.

I have a 98 and have had tons of CCT probs, the only way to be sure is get a manual one IMO
