Back/Spine protector
I ordered a Joe Rocket Supersport replica jacket and I was wondering about back protection. I currently have an A* back protector that slides into the pocket on my other jackets, but I'm buying another back protector so I'm not pulling it out repeatedly. I wouldn't be opposed to another A*, but I was wondering about other brands, like Forcefield, Joe Rocket CE protector, etc., as long as they'll fit into my jacket's back pocket. Any recommendations?

Re: Back/Spine protector
dainese makes a pretty solid product... the honeycomb weave is pretty good, and the armadillo plates as well

Re: Back/Spine protector
I have a Dainese.
But I plan on getting a Forcefield soon..... they seem to get GREAT safety reviews, and are comfy as hell

Re: Back/Spine protector
T-Pro (Forcefield)
Dainese
Knox
Those are all pretty good well known brands. Knox just released their new Aegis back protectors. You could take a look at those.
The only gripe I have with Dainese is their "Wave" line of back protectors. They're good but only for one crash. The absorbing material is an aluminum honeycomb structure... good for one crash only. Their other lines are solid though...
I have a TPro one... comfy, pretty good a ventilating air, and is reusable for more than one crash. I also have the chest protector too. Don't have any issues with fitment or comfort.

Re: Back/Spine protector
I'd really recommend getting a separate (straps and belt) back protector - you get used to putting it on very quickly, takes only a couple of seconds extra and is much safer since it covers a larger area. I can definitely recommend Dainese on that - they were also the first ones to make one and have kept up with development

Re: Back/Spine protector
I have the Knox Aegis, it is very comfortable. I am 6'4", and got just the right size. Very nice, with tailbone protection and kidney protection.

Re: Back/Spine protector
Your going to want one that straps to you, and not one that goes in your jacket. If you have a get off and your jacket comes up and you start to roll then it wont be in the right spot for your back if it doesnt strap to you.

Re: Back/Spine protector
Well since the OP is now talking about back protectors that fit in Joe Rocket jackets....
I'd recommend CE level 2 back protectors. Joe Rocket does sell a Joe Rocket branded T-Pro back protector but it's only CE level 1. I'd rather send the extra couple of bucks and get the level 2 back protector. It's thicker but it doesn't bother me in my Speedmaster 5.0 jacket.
The orange one is the Joe Rocket branded one.

Actually, I was always talking about back protectors that fit in a JR jacket
I think, after reading all these posts, that I'm going to have to look into a (dare I say it) strap-on back protector instead. Thanks for all the replies guys!

I thought I remembered JR was CE2 Thanks for bursting my bubble Anyway it's still a very good one & I use it with a back pad in my jacket as well. To do over I would get the T-Pro if that is the case, but I am not worried about it protecting me as it is well done
