Dropped bike 1st day... Now won\'t start

Okay, start the flaming, but is there some sort of tip over relay or somthing? I was doing just fine, decided to step off for a second (adjusting the throttle), and PLUM FORGOT TO PUT THE DAMN SIDESTAND DOWN Okay, so am I missing somthing? On a positive side, those Suzuki engineers are very creative = I never really looked closely at a "modern" sportsbike to see how compact everything is and how much inguebity goes into making a motorcycle...

Re: Dropped bike 1st day... Now won\'t start

This is not a joke. But one time, I let a bud of mine ride my bike. hen I got back on it, I couldn't start it. I was pissed. After standing there for a while, I realized he was one of those guys that always hits the kill switch after riding, I never do.

I don't think they have a kill switch. Mine was tipped in front of my house(I wished I'd catch the bastard that knocked it over and drove off!!!), but it started up no problem.

What year is it? Does the fuel pump come on, and what is the FI light doing(not sure what year u have?)?

Yea we need to know what bike it is..

Carbed bikes seem to foul the plugs if left on there side for to long. Clean out the airbox, take the plugs out and crank the motor a few times...

Next, does the bike even CRANK?? there is a tip over sensor on the bike, and sure it could be stuck, but we need more info.

Re: Dropped bike 1st day... Now won\'t start

Well, I over-reacted... I tried starting it for about 10 minutes and finally gave up. Went to my sister-in-laws for my birthday dinner. I hooked her up to a battery charger while I was gone and made a stunning dicovery when i took it back off - the negative cable was loose, way loose So, I tightened it back up, and everything works great! I really need to go get that damned manual tomorrow...

Now, as for the specs - 1998 GSXR-600, 10k miles, K&N air filter, Mobil 1 oil, Suzuki filter (go figure...), Yoshi aluminum can, 750 USD forks and controls... bodywork is rough, front blinkers are missing, paint is okay, left side mirror is gone, and the are some zip ties in clever places...

She's being torn down completely this winter and put back together better than new!

The only mods I want to do are;
Ideal undertail
turn signal intregrator
airbox mod
replace the pipe
dyno tune
Amsoil oil/filter
solo tail
bulbs...

and then a general cleaning up of everything... The ID10-T panel has to go in favour of something more elegant and simple.

Spooner - you bastard - you sold your SRAD WTF??? Man, you were part of the reason why I bought one Well, my new bitch is a bit rough (no where near as nice as yours was), but I can see the potencial to be a really nice bike. I'll give ya a call tomorrow and maybe you can swing by after work (or hell, I can probably swing by sometime as well) - Sposed to be decent tomorrow...
