Wilson passes away following Virginia accident

After a crash at the Virginia International Raceway at the weekend, in the Red Bull AMA U.S. Rookies Cup, Bermudan rider Toriano Wilson has tragically died in hospital.
Following a tragic first lap accident in Sunday´s Red Bull AMA U.S. Rookies Cup race, at the Virginia International Raceway, 14 year-old Bermudan competitor Toriano Wilson has sadly passed away in hospital due to his injuries.
Wilson fell on the track during the first lap and was accidentally struck by another rider, Luciano Ribodino, while attempting to get out of the way. Wilson was airlifted to UNC Medical Center for treatment, but later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead early on Monday.
Ribodino was transported to Duke Medical Center in Durham, North Carolina, having suffered a broken left arm and broken left femur. He is in a stable condition.

That's pretty horrible considering the kid's way to young to go. He never got a chance to live. RIP

Just saw that as I was watching my DVR recordings of the VIR races. Tragic.
RIP young man. Bermuda lost one of it's rising stars.

Yes - RIP cup racer.
Lets hope the other rider involved does not cave in over it.
It would have happened to anyone that was there, he just happened to be the one.

Tragic and very sad, even moreso that another rider was involved and will think about it his whole life.
