ok so I'm hearing that my bike needs to have somewhere around three thousand miles on it before running full synthetic oil. I need a little input on this if you guys wouldn't mind.
I ran Mobil 1 full synthetic in my 06 750 and the bike loved it so I'm doing it again, but I have 1600 miles on the bike and I wanna put it in now!
I don't wanna know what kind of oil I should or shouldn't be using I just wanna know how soon I can drop it into the belly of my beast

I just changed over to synthetic at my last oil change - roughly 2K miles. It has been a long standing debate on when you can switch to it, some people will argue the motor needs to be broken in before switching while others use it right away. I normally wait a couple thousand before switching, just personal preference.
Seems a little soon to me, but my dealer said that after the first service (600 miles) you can run full synthetic. I'm at 1600 miles right now and when I do my next oil change(probably around 3K) I will switch to full synthetic.
I feel semi synth is better than full synth for our clutches..
I switched to semi synthetic at 1k
I agree...tried both fully synthetic and semi on my past Gixxers....and the fully synthetic always turn out wrong with the clutch and the gearbox make more noises when shifting gears with full synth...
I use Motul 5100 ester 10w-40......The fully synt. oil I tried was the Motul 300V ester 15w-50....

I ran castrol semi-synth from 600-800 as an experiment and the bike vibrated like a hooker in december. I promptly threw in the old faithful - amsoil - and will continue to do so. In fact I'm due for an oil change.
Doesn't really matter which brand you use. The interval at which you change your oil is more important. If I run conventional I change it out every 3K miles. Synthetic every 5K miles. If you're running a lot of trackdays or doing a lot of canyon/mountain carving you should change it sooner.
