so i removed the stock can
tonight i was messing around with one of my buddies and decided to try and hear what the bike would sound like with the can removed.
just wondering how bad it is to ride without the can on. after removing it we drove around for maybe 20 mins.

I don't see why it'd be any different than riding with a slip-on. slip-on just makes it more free flowing, which is all taking off the stock pipe does. though, you may also lose some midrange power.

you really should search on this before posting, this was covered just a couple days ago. Its not HORRIBLE for your bike, but its also not a good idea.

It's bad for your bike...Do a search and you'll see...If you don't believe those returns in the search try the k6/7 and k4/5 forums and you'll see.

Re: so i removed the stock can
i wasnt intending to leave the can off for a period of time, just merly took it off for a ride to see how it would sound. i put it back on as soon as we got back..
just wanted to know if doing that was extremly bad. i wasnt so sure, but ive seen those megaphone exhausts and there isnt much to them so i figured one ride wouldnt impact anything.

Re: so i removed the stock can
i have a 08 600 and i took my pipe off and made a custom one. it wont do anything to the bike. as long as u keep the cat on u wont need a PC3. they sell after market slip ons that are just a pipe with nothing else. so ur fine.

you mean Hotbodies or other 'custom' exhausts that are basically straight pipes? Look at their price tags, I'm sure a LOT of R&D went into those
