Factory steering stabilizer HELP!!!

Hey guys, so I just bought a factory stabilizer for my 97 and cant figure out how to mount it. I know on the left side theres the threaded part on the frame but where does it bolt to on the steering? I have looked on the suzuki parts website and cant find a bracket or anything????? If anyone has pics of theirs mounted that would be very helpful... Thanks again guys!!!!

Re: Factory steering stabilizer HELP!!!

The factory one mounts under the tripples to the frame if i remember correctly. i Dont think the 97 had one. My 98 has one, but i dont know how much it does. I wonder if i could rebuild it with some heavier oil or something like such

No.
You need a damper that has an rose jointed eye on the end of the rod, that bolts to the thread on the left side of the frame. You also need the correct size clamp to clamp the damper body to the left fork. The '97 750 never had a damper stock, you need an aftermarket kit. You need to find the correct length and stroke for the damper to suit your bike. Harris do the clamps, most do a basic damper. The easiest and best is to buy a Scott or GPR that fits on top of the top yoke. They aren't cheap but they do the business and look the part.

Re: Factory steering stabilizer HELP!!!

Here, just go and buy a clamp. Here's a picture of what you're looking for, it's an aftermarket damper, but all the same.

Re: Factory steering stabilizer HELP!!!

Correct the 96-97's didn't have them

The 98-99's did... one mount was connected to the bird cage and the other end mounted to the lower tripple.

You could swap the lower tripple or get a clamp for the fork tube but it would be easier to get an aftermarket unit like an Ohlins or Scott or Hyperpro or ....??

They can be mounted in several different places:
