My 1999 SRAD, was a 600,now a 750

finally al done, been a mare fitting the engine, gettin all the bits for it etc etc,had to fit new piston rings/clutch/cam chain tensioner etc so apart from big ends and gears, its a pretty new engine.

all good fun !

Why was it a "mare" ?
The srad 750 mototr bolts directly into a srad 600 frame with No drama what so ever!
Did you use a new gen motor in a srad frame or vice versa?

Re: My 1999 SRAD, was a 600,now a 750

it was a mare due to.

1. i used the existing 600 bits to run the 750 engine, coils, ecu etc, it ran like shite.
2. The clutch was foobard, also the rings were shot, hassles of buying a 2nd hand lump i guess, so had to strip it all (twice, 1st time i did the cam chain and clutch at the same time and slipped a tooth so had to re-alaighn,then found out the rings were shot so had to totally strip it again.
3.had to source all the 750 auxilleries, coils, ecu loom etc etc.

The 750 lump fits easy enough, but gettin it runnin right is another matter

so thats why it was a mare really, bad luck and a mix of bad mechanics/long days/tired etc.

The back end is from a k4 1000.

used exisitng SRAD rear subframe and cut to suit.

will post up some pics of the process/bits

cheers

Nice job. Like the tail. Looks like the angle is a little high though?

What kind of exhaust mid-pipe is that? With the high-mount Akrapovic can?

I'm thinking of swapping over to a 750 too .... how much in all did it cost you to swap?? did you take apart and re-build the 750 motor or was it plug and play??

thanks for the info bro!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: My 1999 SRAD, was a 600,now a 750

it will run with the 600 ecu/coil sticks but it wont run to its full potential,so really you`ll still have the 600 map etc so will lack some power.

TDC Is 1 degree different too so it was a bit lumpy at idle

to get the 750 engine runnin right

engine
coils x2
headlight loom
main loom
750 airbox
ecu
carbs

Anymore photos of the rear, maybe without the rear cowl.
Also front angle photos.

Thanks.

I'm thinking of getting an SRAD for track use, but I'm not liking the rear section.
(I've had one before.. crashed it a long time ago.)

thanks.
