2004 GSXR 750 Halo Angel Eyes install and LED accent lights

Ok here is a BUNCH of pictures of the install of My Halo Angel Eye and LED accent lights. And how i Have it wired up.

The way the wiring is, Its connected to the Nuetral Safety Switch/relay. When you have the bike in Nuetral the lights will come on. But i have a switch under the seat that has a 2 pole position. One is ON one is OFF and One is ACC. ACC is connected to the Nuetral switch. In this mode you can have all the lights on and it kills the power to the Lights when its in gear. The ON position Just turns them on as if you were just chillin in a parking lot. BUt here come the pics.

there is no way in hell i'd EVER attempt doing stuff like this. the wiring .. sure...no sweat. cutting/fabbing/glueing/trimming a headlight assy..... not me. however, to your credit though it's lookin' good man.

Re: 2004 GSXR 750 Halo Angel Eyes install and LED accent lights

I just got it back on the bike had to let it set over night. Its nice when i come to a redlight and kick it in nuetral it comes on looks preety wickid !! and The lights are from CCFL computer Fans !! Xoxide.com Look in case colling area and look at the Cold Cathode Fans You unscrew the bezel on the fans and take the light off it has its own inverter thats 12V. The are like 4.99 each fan or something like that. Green Blue Red and amber i think. If you want White you gotta get them from germany. They are actual Automotive ones. These are better than cleggs and shit those are LED bands and they melt from the headlight head. CCFL is glass. and you expoy (RTV) them into place.

Re: 2004 GSXR 750 Halo Angel Eyes install and LED accent lights

Thanx for the Compliment on the furniture lol and No heat gun. You preheat the oven to 250 deg insert a Cookie tin and drop the light in the over for about 5 minutes to soften th eglue. I got a screw driver under the bottom pryed a lil bit and got two fingers under it and just pulled apart with even pressure around te light. There is a few tabs you gotta deal with though. The only difficult thing is the blue is stringy thats why i used my fingers so i could shove it back in the lil valley that its in. If you want i can do a write up... very simple. Ill list Parts needed materials and ifi can find the other pics post pics as well. Up to you guys. I was afraid to do this after melting my tail light but that was my fault i set the oven to 350 and not 250 225 is the best its a lil slower but doesnt heat up the plastuic as much.

Re: 2004 GSXR 750 Halo Angel Eyes install and LED accent lights

Step1 Remove the headlight from bike... if you cant do this Just stop right here

Step2 remove all metal from the headlight including bulb stays.

Step3 Remove 4 gold Screws On the upper portion of teh headlight

Step4 Preheat Oven to 225deg Depends on your oven and patience

Step5 Insert Cookie tin and light face up The Clear plastic will nick and mar easy when soft be careful not to hit it on anything.

Step6 Close oven and set timer to 5 minutes, DO NOT OPEN the oven

Step7 When the timer goes off have a Towel layed out on the counter something soft. Set the light on this, No Everything on the light will be maluable Which means it will bend and stretch. Insert a screw driver in the lower part of the light and pry with even pressure GET UNDER THE UPPER LIGHT ASSY or you will break the lil channel the glues in.

Step8 This is where haveing two more hands will help. Once you get it open far enough to get some fingers in do that and start pulling apart with even pressure have someone kinda run their finger around the edge to catch and stringy glue it drys hard and is kinda a pain to get off the reflector.

Step9 once the headlight is in two pieces allow it to cool. DO NOT PUT IT IN COLD WATER OR THE FRIDGE!!! This will flash the Plastic and change the charactoristics of the plastic making it brittle.

Step10 once Cooled Its time to add the lights. Youll see all the room you have to run wires and such. Take your Clear RTV you got from walmart and run a small beed around the projector its ok to get this a lil think its RTV it can be cut and smoothed with fingers. Once you have an Even beed place the CCFL on the RTV evenly and point the open end of the CCFL towards the bottom so the wires go under the reflector housing. Hold the CCFL in place for a few minutes till the RTV starts to vulcanize, you may need to place something with a lil bit of weight on it to keep it in place like i did with that plastic flashlight. i also ran my finger around the CCFL and smoothed out the RTV kinda pulled it up on the outter edge of it to get a good hold on it.

Step11 Wiring... This is simple. You can this however you want. You have a 12Volt inverter Box DO NOT PUT THIS IN THE HOUSING!! it will burn out due to heat. Take the box apart and fill it with RTV and reseal it this will keep the board dry and weather resistant and RTV is no nconductive so YAY. Ill Explain how i wired mine But you can just simple add a Switch to yours.

1 4 post Automotive relay 1 3 Position switch and 60 Feet of Wire, Soldering iron and Electrical tape.

If you dont know how to wire up relays and the such i will ake a diagram for you.
With the Relay and switch I did two things. middle Pole= off, UP = ON, Down = Relay. The relay is tapped into the neutral safety relay. The signal wire is attached to the relay so when its in N it will come on. When kicked into gear It kills the lights. I did this so i dont pull the OH SORRY OFFICER I FORGOT it was on. Then I can also just turn it off and on with the 3 pole switch for parking lots or parking what not. Im at work so when i get home ill Post detailed wireing.

Step12 now that the light is installed dried over night and you completed your bike wiring, its time to reseal the headlight. Preheat the oven to 225 again Insert Cookie Tin. set t he two pieces how they are supposed to fit together set them on the cookie tin. Close door and set time for 5 miutes. Walk away. We have to make the glue soft enough to stick it all back together. DO NOT SCOOP THE GLUE OUT WHEN YOU TAKE IT APART. Once the timer goes off WITH OVEN MITS remove the light and press the front and rear with even pressure youll hear the air bubbles pop in the glue once you get the snaps clicked Hurry and install the screws. DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN the plastic is still soft and will break or flex easy once you have the screws in and it cools it will be a super ass tight fit. Now allow the light the cool.

Step13 Reinstall the light.. that simple. Plug in your wireing and away you go.

Now i Installed 2 RED LEDs in the top of mine to add more RED to the light, the CCFL has a pinkish tone to it due to the Core being White. Some companies make RED RED CCFLs that have a red core. I think it was Logisys. but search around. I have Green Blue and Red and did the red. Green would be cool and Blue has an R1 thing. My buddy did his R1 with blue and white.

if you have questions feel free to ask. Heres the parts list

1. tube of CLEAR RTV (wal mart automotive section) $2.99
2. CCFL Your choice of colors (Xoxide.com) $4.99ea
3. 1 4 post Automotive relay (radioShack) $3.00ea
4. 1 3 pole switch or any switch you like (radio shack) varies Mie was .99cent
5. Wireing (radio shack) 18-20awg works fine Red green and Black wires Signal Ground and power. $3.49
6. misc Connectors for relay (radio Shack) .99cents
7. Inline Splice Crimp Connectors (radio Shack) .79cents
