Re: 04-05 600 fork setup

I ran the front of my '04 Gixxer 6 very tall.... forks nearly flush. I also know people that ran the front very low. I think it's a personal preferance kinda thing.:confused

Really depends on what tires you run, rear shock-stock or aftermarket, who did your forks & what size spacers were installed etc..I used about 6-7mm at first & now using 10mm above & change it +/- 2 at times.Best to ask the guy who did your suspension

Re: 04-05 600 fork setup

ummm....this all depends on the tires you are running.

I found a bitchin' set-up for this year.

Last year with with Dunlop D209's (190/60) rear.

shock: 326mm eye to eye (6mm lower than stock)
forks: 5mm including caps above the top triple

*bike steered slow but we had to go lower in the rear to get rid of headshake from the rear tire growth.

BTW....my set-up started from Thermosman.

This year with Dunlop 190/55 N-tecs the bike hands WAY better:

Shock: 329 eye to eye (3mm lower than stock)
forks: 7mm

Oh yeah...you also need sag #s to make that geometry work.

I weigh 175 and run a 450 rear spring and .925s up front (could probably use .95s). 30mm rear sag and 40mm front sag.

way more flickable and VERY stable...I am going much faster this year than last.

BTW...my set-up started from Thermosman.

good luck.

yep I'm at 6mm with my ohlins supersport valved front end.... and I believe I have the shock set at the same height as stock. Running Michelin PRC front and PR5 rear.
