i don't know what i should do. i am doing a 7/11 swap and was thinking of doing the cable clutch conversion. if i did that i could use the side mount battery set-up i bought off e-bay. i am not going to race and i have nerve damage in my left hand and wrist. now i am thinking about just going with a galfer clutch line attached to a brembo clutch master. that way i have both brembo masters.i i go the brembo route i will probably be selling the aluminum battery relocation set-up.what should i do?
this is a pic of the battery relocation. it is not my bike.my bike is in my avatar.

Re: i am torn
I like the cable clutch for it's feel, but I like the hydraulic clutch for the maintenance and consistent feel. For a street bike I would stay with the hydraulic, but for a track bike I would go with cable.

Re: i am torn
Will ya give me dibbs on the tray if you decide to sell? As you know i wanted to bid on that and the one I ended up with turned out to be all dicked up!
As far as the clutch's go I've run half the time with HYD the other half cable. The pressure with the cable isn't bad, but it is obviously more than the HYD and also heavier than the newer bikes with cable just to give you an idea....

IF I STAY HYDRO, YES YOU CAN HAVE DIBBS. THE SMALLER BATTERY WILL BE INCLUDED.
i never cared for both the cable clutch conversion and the battery re-location.
i don't mind a cable clutch, but i would not change the perfectly working hydralic clutch on my first generations. not worth it. battery relocation is bling.
the battery relocation is for a lower center of gravity and weight savings because it uses a smaller battery, so it is not bling. i think i am leaning towards the brembo clutch master route.

yeah, yeah, yeah...c'mon people, it is 100% bling. admit it. aint nuthing wrong with that, though. just accept it for what it is.
the only BLING on my bike is the SPRINT PRO-RACE anodized blue steering damper and VANCE AND HINES PRO SUPERSPORT exhaust. the can is brushed aluminum and the rest of the exhaust is coated black. nothing on my bike is polished or chrome.

Yeah, it's bling. I'm doing a few of them but the one going on mine is going to be a combo catch can/battery box (practical, not bling). It will use a smaller gel battery and mount in the same location as stock. I think it was Troy or maybe GixxerRacer317 that told me that the battery box and battery can get destroyed in a crash at the track and leave you screwed for the rest of the race - or the rest of your track day if you don't have spares. I hope to avoid that with the underseat location and still get the benefit of reduced wieght.

i was merely responding to your dilemma/question: i do not consider it a very good/smart modification and it does make it much more prone to damage, like eric stated. yes, it does lower the cg and the weight savings is neglible. a rider's weight and ability will offset any advantages. but, if someone is building a period-correct replica, then yes, it is a good mofication.
i subscribe to the theory that investing in yourself is the best bang for your buck in making you faster. if that is your objective. i do like some bling and i especially enjoy modifying/working on my bikes.
