Dunlop qualifiers

So Last week I dropped my bike off to get Pilot powers installed. they couldn't get it in right away and so I waited a week. Today I pick up the bike and instead of pilot powers on, it has dunlop qualifiers. So I'm not happy but they charged me $273 all together for both tires and the install to make it right. I'm not asking if I got a good price ( I know I did ) my question is should have I just paid full price and waited on he PP or are the dunlop's comporable. Stupid question I know but I never did any research on the qualifiers so I don't know anything about them. I was set on the pilot powers.

Haven't tried that model yet, but I'm a big Dunlop fan personally.

Re: Dunlop qualifiers

My mate has them fitted to his 10R, they feel like they grip the same but look like they will wear a lot quicker...

Re: Dunlop qualifiers

I've got a set of them sitting in my Bedroom. Bought them for 250 dollars.

I thought the local shop said they charged 70 bucks to install. didn't know that it was 70 PER tire.

so if I do get them mounted, I'm looking at total cost 390 bucks.

you got a good deal.

Re: Dunlop qualifiers

Had mine put on three months ago and no complaints yet. I personally think the Pilot Powers are hyped up by word of mouth and thats why everyone buys them

That's insane! You need to find another shop.

Re: Dunlop qualifiers

just got off the phone with the shop in Charleston, IL. they want 85 PER FREAKIN TIRE.

how retarded! I can't do it myself cause I don't have any way to balance the tires. this sucks.

Re: Dunlop qualifiers

My take on the two tires is the qualifiers are good tires. They've held with me through some nice twistie roads. Never let me down. They surprisingly get very sticky on the edges when i ride. The PP 2ct i've only did a light run on my bro's liter and they have a completly different feel. As soon as u lean into a turn they pull the bike down for u. It feels as if its turning the bike for you. I cant give a full review on how they warm up and stick down to the ground cause i wasnt goin to go balls to the wall on the first time on a liter. but they will be my next set of tires cause i really like how they drop u into turns..

Re: Dunlop qualifiers

They are fine. I ride with a guy that has them on his 600rr and he's never had any problems with.

Dunlop is coming out with a new Qualifier, the carcass looks like the D209. From the description of them, they seem to be on par with the BT-002 Racing Street, I think they are already available across the pond, but like everything else they take their time getting to the US. I definately would like to try these when they get here.

Re: Dunlop qualifiers

I've got them on my 1000 currently, and they're great! Awesome grip in dry and wet weather. Now I can't compare them accurately to the PP's that i had on before since the rear I had on was a 180/55 and i know have a 190/50, but I like them better overall. I'll either be trying the Qualifier RR's with a 190/55 rear or some Pirellis( I LOVE Pirelli's)

Re: Dunlop qualifiers

well I would say so far their great. but I don't know how they compare to the pp's. I like them but if they are just as good as the pp's I would go with the PP's for the price. Dealer had the qualifiers set at $225 a tire and he pp's at $175

Re: Dunlop qualifiers

I've never rode on the Michelins, but I did put a set of those on my brother's TLR. It was like a new bike, we both love them. I'll be putting a set on my 600 soon.
