Mark Brereton aka MarkB Donations

From a Press Release

WERA racer Mark Brereton (creator of the DVDs RoadRace 1 & 2) crashed at Barber during a NESBA trackday this past Sunday. Mark was paralyzed from the chest down when his back was broken along with his left wrist.

Mark has been an icon of the WERA BBS, always posting some of the most humorous things you've ever read, and several current threads on wera.com include well-wishes. And a PayPal account is taking donations to help with the astronomical medical expenses that Mark is getting ready to be hit with.

Anyone wishing to make a PayPal donation towards Marks' medical expenses, can send it to MarkBFund@comcast.net. Please make sure that you send a note identifying yourself so he can thank you.

This is a link to the WERA BBS thread concerning the donations:

This is a link to the WERA BBS thread with the all the well wishes and
I've also made a post in with the details of how the crash occured.

Mark speaks alot of Vincent Haskovec right now, talking about how he now knows what Vincent must have gone through, and when all this is said and done, really would like a chance to meet/talk to him. Vincent, even before his accident, has always been an inspiration to Mark.

Mark is a good friend of mine. We are praying for him daily. The main thread is on Wera.com. Keeping us all updated on his surgeries and condition.

Hopefully we can go visit him this weekend.

Thanks for posting Sam.

Re: Mark Brereton aka MarkB Donations

where did he crash? Did he hit a wall?

After seeing Keith Marshall's crash in the back-straight flipflop at Barber, he came damn close to the edge there. Between there, and turns 1 and 3, Barber has a few dangerous spots. us lowly club racers might not have the massive shit-ton of airfence deployed like the AMA gets.

hope he recovers.

sixx now get off the masheen and get yo' crap in the traila!

Holy shit. I read something about this the other day but didn't realize it was that Mark B and surely didn't understand the extent of his injuries. This is horrible news...

Ah, hell... I can't believe that's happened to him... that's very, very sad. I'll definately be donating.

Re: Mark Brereton aka MarkB Donations

Just read the 350-ish replies in the thread over at the WERA board and added my own. I also sent a donation.

Re: Mark Brereton aka MarkB Donations

I have been following this on the WERA BBS from the start and praying for Mark.
I will be making a contribution and also posting a link to the fund on my websites homepage in hopes that it will help.
Horrible stuff.
