Re: Just installed a TRE

Put the bike in dealer mode and see if you are reading out any codes. The TRE is just a resistor that fools the Gear Position Sensor (GPS). The temp light should not be affected by it at all. My guess is that while you were installing it, you might have accidently disconnected something.

Re: Just installed a TRE

Tre seems to smooth out the throttle response a little and add a little performance as it puts the engine in the 5th gear map where the timing is not retarded. it isn't a HUGE difference IMO, but for the price it seems like a pretty good add on (if you don't care about the indicator). there are tons of threads about TRE's so try a search if you want more info. There is a guy here, Jeffw, who sells tre's and people seem to have great luck with them (including myself). Hope this helps, i don't want to go on about it there are more informative threads to answer any other questions you may have, and i am not a expert by any means.

Re: Just installed a TRE

check JSD out, they frequent gixxer.com.

JSD Products

the sweetest thing i've noticed since i've installed my TRE is that all the gears seem to have better throttle response. also, when I'm at about 12,000 rpms the needle continues to climb towards redline at a faster pace than without the TRE (no timing retard = unrestricted foolishness!)
