old bike pic

First time posting a picture, hope it works. It's my first gsxr I rebuilt and painted after I crashed and totaled it. 88-89, I think some of the body work was from a 1991. A week after I finished the bike a guy driving a Schwans food truck ran over it and dragged it down the street about 20 feet.

Re: old bike pic

That is one of the better looking non stock paint jobs I have seen. And not just because it's blue, but that always helps. What did the obituary for the Schwanns guy say?

Re: old bike pic

That was a sad day, when I think how many hours I spent in the garage wrenching and sanding and buffing it makes me sick. I was never a fan of solid color bikes, it had to be blue or red and white. The paint came out flawless for a garage job, the heavy dose of clearcoat made it shine like a new penny! The driver felt pretty bad, it was hard to get mad at him. Of course their insurance company screwed me, I got about half what I put into it......fuckers. Ill never eat Schwans again.

Re: old bike pic

Don't get me started on the insurance thing. I'm still fighting the battle over my stolen bike. My previous adjuster "left the company" so I had a new guy call me last week. I had to re-explain everything to him and found it very aggravating. He basically told me that if the "market study" said $2100, then that's what I'll get. I told him if he wanted to settle today for $5k then that would be fine - if not, we had nothing more to talk about. He said no, and I told him that was fine because I already paid an appraiser to do up a report and if that report comes back at $7k, then that's what I'll want. On the other hand, if it comes back at $2100, then I won't argue it and he can be a hero to the company. I guess he's a gambling man and I see this going to court.
