ordering my new parts hopefully by next week so my question is who wants to help me put it back together. most of the stuff i can figure out but i could use help anyways. i'll supply the beer! so who's in? probably be in two weeks or so i'll be ready to start bolting stuff on. i would say it's no more than a day job if that of putting the plastic, pipe, clutch cover, etc.
Roach - I will give you a hand anytime, just tell me when. I am about as anal as they come so you don't have to worry about me doing something half-ass. You should try and tell the insurance that the headers cracked or something and put a full system on since they are footing the bill.

trust me the thought crossed my mind but the total is roughly up to $2,400 including the tow bill so i don't know how high I can go without having to worry about totalling it. My adjuster today had me take some digital pics and send to him and he even said he may take care of my $500 deductable since i'm fixing it myself, so i'm keeping my fingers crossed. i'm ready to get the check in the mail so i can order all the parts. Thanks loms i'll get in touch with you when it comes time to bolt it back up. the hardest part i think is going to be getting the factory mid-pipe back together, they took it all apart at T&C and i have no clue how the springs and stuff bolt and fit back together. I appreciate you going to help though, it won't go un-rewarded. talk to ya when the parts get here!

The stock exhaust is not a problem, hooking back up the SET valve and cables if relatively easy. I cannot remember if your is all stock or is you have a slip-on system. I am not sure of the compatability of the 02 and the 04, but I have a stock full system with the SET valve, headers, mid-pipe and exhaust can in my garage I am willing to part with.
thanks guys. hopefully be ordering all the parts next week so it will probably be in roughly 2 weeks. my leg is feeling tons better so i'll be ready to hop back on it soon~!
i'm thinking about changing the plugs also since i/we will be wrenching on it anyways. it has almost 17,000 miles with original plugs. how long would it take to change them and what plugs do you all recommend and will i need new wires also? sorry i sound like a squid b/c i don't know lol
LOL - Check your book regarding the wires, I think they should be fine. There are a ton of plug options out there, let me do some research on it, I will change mine when we put your bike back together. I have 12K on mine but with my mods and the bike running rich the last few thousand miles I am sure they are fouled a bit and need changing.
Looks like Denso Iridium plugs are the most popular, most guys change them every 5k-7.5K miles. Another good plug is always an NGK. NGK plugs also work great with the giggle gas but I would never run a power adder on any motorized vehicle......
