Hey lads, just acquired a new 2012 GSX-R600 to track/race for next year. Just want to find out if anyone has had any experience with tuning the stock suspension? anyone got any good base settings on these?
A starting point for track-use for 2011(same as 2012) GSX-R600 from SportRider issue Aug/11:
ForkPreload=9 turns out ForkRbnd=4 turns out ForkCmp=4.5 turns out RearPreload=10mm thread showing RearRbnd=2.5 turns out RearCmp=1.75 turns out
On the rear shock there seems to be, theres the flat head screw, and around that theres a hexagonal bolt that has a maker on it. I thought one was high Speed Compression and the other low speed.
Huh. I would guess it is low speed since that is the traditional one - see if Sport Rider spec is close to OEM and if so, try OEM for hi-speed? Sorry I can't help you much more, maybe try googling it more or find someone racing one and ask?
Also if you want to know the very the basics of how to do it yourself, read the Ohlins setup guide as the adjustments you have on your OEM shock are the same: http://www.ohlins.com/Checkpoint-Ohlins/Setting-Up-Your-Bike/Underrubrik_1/
And if you can sit long enough to read it (or print it out!) look at the #1 post in this section's sticky thread called Suspension 101.
