Bought a "slow" colored bike.

While sitting on the commode yesterday at work, my friend texted me a craigslist link. It was for a 1987 GSXR750. No price and a very sparse ad.

"1987 gsxr 750 the bike ran 6 years ago.
I have the title.make an offer. "

Hmm I thought I suppose this is worth an email. Emailed the guy with a cheeky offer and he said "when can you come look at it"
Hurried down there today and took a peak. Who ever had it before him did some work; it's got a Fox Twin Clicker, OG Yoshi exhaust (Not a Duplex ), steering damper, Pingel petcock and flushmounts . All OE plastics, albeit beat up but savable, got a very nice upper and clear windscreen.
One thing I can't get over is the paint scheme and how slow it look

The rules of the game are: 1) Call 2) Offer 3) Car-keys and $$ in-hand 4) Drive to destination 5) Inspect, negotiate, purchase

Stall on any of those, and you will fail.

Saw that. Seller is shady as shit. I first saw it in like November. He posted it for 1300 with a "bad motor" a few times, reposts it for 900 so I Talked to him and asked what the story was and he said the motor might not even be bad it just hasn't been run in a long time :
Offered him 700$ because it has no paperwork (not a problem for me) he accepted and I said let me know when I can come pick it up. No reply. Few days later and no reply. He then reposts it for like 1100 or something with a different phone number but same pcis
From a while ago:

Me: is the gsxr still for sale 12:45 PM
+12032438789: Yes 12:45 PM
Me: lowest you would take? 12:48 PM
+12032438789: Can u remind me what I put it in for 12:49 PM
Me: Well it's been up for a couple times; first time was 1300. Then I saw it up for 900. Now it's back up to 1300. I'd like to know what's actually going on this is a different number that previously posted 12:52 PM
+12032438789: I could do 1050 12:55 PM
Me: Pass 2:03 PM
+12032438789: Okay 2:08 PM

Re: Bought a "slow" colored bike.

sorry little bitter. i had a death in the family so i couldnt go right down to get it. he said we were set thought he would at least tell me if there was a counter offer. glad its someone who will appreciate it. i suppose it would have gone against my "de-clutter and simplify" plan anyways. have you got it to run at all?
