Parts interchangeability - Forks and Shocks

Hello,

I bought a nice 12k mile '04 GSXR 600. Like many older bikes with low miles it is in need of fork seals. I also want to have the shock/forks re oiled and resprung for my weight so that I can make the most out of my bike at the track. I wouldn't have bought this Japanese torture device if on track performance was not a priority. So do the '06'07 forks and shock swap out? They seem to be more plentiful on the used market and it would be easier for me if I could have parts rebuilt and ready to drop in when the old stuff comes out.

Cheers,
Jon

nope, 06 07 forks won't fit. there's my writeup around here somewhere where I show how to properly disassemble and put together 04-05 forks without springs compressor, that might be useful to you. search for the "fork service tips and tricks"

you can still order the parts you need just almost as easily as 06/07
