That is the "blowing the lid off" article a lot of people like to reference when justifying their $30 helmet purchases.

There is some truth to the article.

What it doesnt account for is how the cheap helmets fit like shit VERY shortly after purchase, and how that effects safety. Nor how badly they fit. Nor how uncomfortable, noisy, and how shitty they vent.

For the street, in a average street crash that is under 30mph by the time the crash happens a BRAND NEW MR2 helmet or whatever actually will be better for your head than a brand new Arai.

But three months of riding later and that is not true anymore.

and on a race track where speeds are FAR higher, that is not true either.
