I don't have whiskey or honey. But my buddy said apple cider vinegar in tea with acidity of the vinegar supposedly helping. It didn't.
The honey will coat your throat...and kentucky whiskey will clear sinuses...im not sayin get smashed just have a coffee cup...mostly water and a good two o three tbsp of honey. Only time i drink liquor when i feel a cold coming on. Works every time apple cider vinegar has different acids in it compared to natural acidity of a lemon great for coleslaw though
Tylenol cold and flu severe like the 2nd poster said. That's the only stuff that used to work for me when I got colds.
Ever since I started working outdoors, I haven't been sick once except for the flu in 2009 that my girlfriend brought home from the office. So getting outside more often does hhelp the immune system.

You know the Tylenol stuff was cheaper than the mucinex but I decided to try the mucinex. I never get sick either. This type a thing is usually the worst for me. I'll get once every 3 years or so. It's also nothing where I need to stay home from work or anything. Just more of an annoyance.
Two shots of liquid tylenol nighttime in the blue bottle.. Pricy..but I will take a shot every 4 hours through the day too.. If you fight the sleepy feeling for about an hour it goes away and you just feel drunk..great stuff... Clears me up fast every time.

You'll need to ask your pharmacist for it, and bring ID.
Sudafed 24 hour.
It's has Pseudoephedrine and comes in a 10 pack.
It's pricey, but kicks azz..
Compressed saline in a can. Super effective, and fun as hell!
Make sure you're leaning over a sink.
It does help, I use a Neti Pot. I have used many of the OTC meds and think it really depends on the person. Mucinex makes me fall down so I stay away from that one.

My buddy uses the Netti pot but I didn't want to bother with all that. It's starting to run its course and I am starting to clear up.
