You know, that sounds like giant slalom! I ski raced a lot growing up, and remember the odd sense of calm terror you feel as the ground drops out from underneath you.
What a feeling! Aim for the entrance of the next turn, keep your tuck, and blast over the edge! Then you wait until next week when the earth comes by for a visit to let your legs down.

I have a very similar EVS jacket for dirt riding. Not quite as much armor & it's all mesh in between the armor, it works great with a MX jersey over it or once it gets cold with an enduro shell. I have the EVS knee/shin guards for dirt also. Super impressed with the quality of their gear.
I see guys in the summer wearing those protectors and shorts with knee pads. I guess they look cool, but I would rather have leather. I have slid right through a very think jacket before.

We were talking about wearing them UNDER good leathers. You crash in just the plastic & it would shred right away.

Does it make it cumbersome putting your leathers on? I have a pretty hard time putting them on with a back protector (doesn't help that both my shoulders are pretty jacked up.)
