Chuckawalla Race Track Dec 3. 86 GSXR 1100

Marsh and I decided to hit the track earlier this month. We took advantage of perfect weather and conditions. Rain had cleared up just in time. We had alot of fun on the track. Track is awesome course and recommend it. Heres just a bunch of photos for your viewing.

Bike was not running tits. Carbs need to be gone over. Brakes were squishy. Rear caliper ended up locking on me ending my day at 1:00pm.

Re: Chuckawalla Race Track Dec 3. 86 GSXR 1100

How was the bike? I think my slabby handles ok on the street but never had it on the track so have never really pushed it. Looks like you have 17's on it so good tires & using USD forks so that changes things. Is the chassis pretty solid or does it get wound up or loose/slappy? Looks like a fun flowing track but no big straights to let her loose!

Re: Chuckawalla Race Track Dec 3. 86 GSXR 1100

Nothing like a newer 600 for the track. But the 1100 held its own against against some of the newer bikes. We had r6 pass me while me and MMarsh we're dicing it up. Marsh chased the guy down and passed no problem and held back for me to catch up some. My bike just was not 100 percent with the brakes and it stalled in the straight right into the turn leaving me without power to ride it out. I coasted in and stayed on the track. Once I get the bike running tits I will go balls out and push the bike more. But for the day that I was having, I just wanted to get some sessions in and have fun. Mission accomplished. A nice set up bike though you can be fast as MMarsh was showing me all day.

Re: Chuckawalla Race Track Dec 3. 86 GSXR 1100 AND 86 GSXR 750

Hey Trevor, Ill just add my pics to your thread if ya don't mind.

JB, I was running Dunlaps Q2's. but I'm going to switch to GPA's next time out. I've spent a good deal of time setting my bike up. LE suspension resprung and changed the internals on the USD front end and did the same with the rear shock. Bike handles really well and is a blast to ride.

That pic of the bikes on the trailer is awesome. All you need is a 86/87 circa car pulling it and it could be a picture taken of a privateer racer from that era. Cheers, thanks for sharing.
