Before reuniting with my 16 year old daughter, I never carried my cell phone with me. Now, it's the primary way we communicate because her signal is so weak. We do a video chat over wireless every Wednesday night ( only night she's not crazy busy, she's in color guard and they practice so much that she can't even land a part time job ).
Thats pretty cool That all still going good

Or you just arent close enough to them that its on your mind. Ill chuckle at that but it isnt really funny. Work is the only thing I have obligations to. And we are close enough relationship wise that they know how to get me if my phones off

It's going so well. We're really building a strong relationship. She told me she loves me a few weeks ago.... it melted me. We talk every day. Last night we broke new ground... she really opened up to me about her past and some bad drama that erupted years ago. She wanted me to know everything. I cried for 30 minutes once everyone else in my house went to sleep over that... she went through a lot of drama over nothing. Kids really are fucking cruel to each other. But that's all in the past now and we're both looking forward to continuing to grow. It's really awesome.
On a side note, as I've aged... I've become really emotional about shit now. It's sad in a way but I'm not ashamed. I really feel like I bond with my daughters better because of it.

Yep. My 13 year old had some drama started all because she didn't like one of the popular girls and didn't want to be friends with her ( one of the super fake ones ).
So said popular girl started rumors about my daughter and of course they spread like wildfire... causing drama for a good year. She had a VERY rough year.
Now, said popular girl was expelled from school and is now home-schooled. The other girl that was involved in the drama was caught lying about doing some big cheerleading thing and was so ashamed that she left school and is also now home-schooled. Karma is a bitch.

Thats one reason I dont want kids. I dont want to have to deal with all that shit a second time We didnt have much "drama" with my friends but the girls did. If I had a girl her mother would be the only one dealing with that It makes me
Hee hee! I saw two girls who were popular in high school- both overweight, one working at Target and the other at JC Penny!
Actually, thanks to the high school reunion gimmick on Facebook, I learned that of the obnoxious girls I knew, most of them are suffering some combination of fat, single parent, and/or working a dead-end retail job.
Actually, that's a fairly common fate for a lot of my classmates, which is sad. Lots of these folks were in AP classes and I thought they went on to college. I dropped out, got a Good-Enough-Degree, and joined the Army.
Deployments are kind of rough, but life overall is excellent. Weird how that worked out.
Dirty- Great news! My wife bought one that almost got me on R&R. Never let your guard down around an active 4 year old.

If my mother ever sends me a text, I'll collapse of a heart attack. I"m not 100% sure she even has a cell phone but I could be mistaken.
Took a final exam last night. Law class. Went better than I was expecting. One of the questions was, "What is a tort?" One of the answers was, "A pastry which always has a fruit filling but never a cream filling." It was temping to mark that just for giggles. The instructor was outstanding all semester. The kind of guy who should be a politician.
Seriously thinking about getting back into it for a law degree. Might be fun. MBA would be more useful, though. Regardless, I'll sit out for a semester, at least, before jumping back in, IF I decide to do it. Best of all worlds would be to go get the MBA and then go to law school.
Another final exam on Thursday for Finance. Wish me luck. Shouldn't be too problematic, actually. The instructor is retiring and I'm convinced he wants it to be over as much as anyone!
Christmas is coming. Bleah.
Keep the rubber side down. (Too cliché, I know.)
