The reason the tattoo looks crooked and misshapen is because she was probably sitting backwards in a chair while it was getting it. If she was to drape her shoulders over the back rest of a chair I bet it would be perfectly straight.
The tattoo actually looks like the guy did a good job except for not knowing it would be crooked from her leaning over a chair. It doesn't look like he went to deep or that he was too rough.
But about the design and the tattoo in general, it's hers, not yours. If she likes it then who are you to judge? She has to live with it not you, unless you plan on marrying her. On a good note, it does look like it would be easy to cover up if you got another artist that knows what he/she is doing.

At least it's not like a guy I once dated, he got nautical stars tattd on his elbows... because he thought it looked cool. Nothing about him was represented in the tatt except how stupid he/it was.
At least it's a somewhat simple tattoo that if anything, wouldn't be too hard to remove. And it's decent to be in public... no curse words, or placed inappropriately

For mine, I asked myself, "What matters to me? What style of tattoo do I like to look at? How will I make it at least a tiny bit Mine, and no one elses?"
So I had the hula girl from Sailor Jerry's spiced navy rum tattooed on my back, with a blue lei and bigger boobs.
