"AUCKLAND, NZ (TV3 New Zealand) – The SPCA knows that rescue dogs are smart. They think that the dogs are so smart that they are teaching them how to drive.
The organization’s biggest challenge is finding good homes for the dogs they rescue. So, they put out this video to help promote their cause of pet adoption. It’s hard to argue that teaching dogs to drive is bound to get people’s attention.
The story begins two months ago at the SPCA in South Auckland New Zealand. Master animal trainer Mark Vette teaches dogs to drive. The story helps underline the organizations efforts to promote the extraordinary intelligence of human kind’s closest friend and get dogs adopted."

That is from 2007 and New Zealand wants the world to think they are sooo progressive and the first ones to do this. Dogs have been driving in this country for years but still pretty cool!
