Hey guys Im getting ready to change to o-ring and Im a bit confused about the Permatex UltraCopper RTV. Do I put 1/16 bead in front and behind the o-ring or just behind it? how far apart from the o-ring? Looks like the previous owner had sealed it and got a little too crazy with the RTV because it had a lot when I removed the pump.

I know this is old but thanks for the info. I just did all this today so we will see how it works.

I hope it works, if not, just replace the pump assy. Mine worked for awhile then start leaking from the internal seal at only 1400 miles.

Hahaha im surprised i havent yet. I changed the o ring but still leaked. So i re did it with the rtv and will see how it goes. If it still leaks im getting a new pump
