Remember the anemic Chevy 305? That's a 5.0, why would anyone ever consider a 4.8?

My 81 Malibu had the 229 v-6. That's a 305 less 2 cylinders.
Like a 4.3 is a 350 less 2 cyl.

You mean if they're a vagina and don't know how to use a truck?

Not necessarily. I mean if they dont need a truck to pull heavy stuff. Not everyone that uses a truck uses it to pull trailers. After my grandpa retired the main thing he used his truck for was to haul our hockey bags around when he took us to games/practice. Try fitting three hockey bags in anything besides a truck.
I also have done work for a farmer who uses a light weight truck most of the time. Its useful when you need to get a few pieces of lumber, or a bit of mulch or something. He uses a diesel only if hes gonna be
needing the power. You dont need a diesel or a 6.0 for those sorts of things. A 4.8 will do just fine. Not to mention they are way easier to find for sale
