I've used a smaller Ctek one (like yours IIRC) and also one of the bigger ones for car/bike/boat batteries. I always leave it hooked up if I can.
If the bike has been run recently, I find it jumps through to maintenance fairly quickly. I did once put a really hammered battery in and it spent a while going through the first couple of stages though. Left it overnight to find it on the maintenance setting in the morning, and all was good with the battery
Don't worry about it, it's doing its job fine
