Clutch Basket removal

Hello guys,
I've only recently become a member of the Gsxr club after swapping my fazer for a 97 750 srad.
The first proper ride I had I noticed the clutch would slip slightly and got progressively worse, so at the weekend I decided to change the plates.
While removing the main nut the whole clutch basket slipped forwards slightly and is now stuck in this position. Has anyone had a similar experience? If so is there a specific way to fix it?
And if not can you please help me take the bloody thing off, I have no idea what to do next, please check the photo for reference

It's just out of alignment with the oil pump gear on the back, you can usually guide it into place and slowly rotate the mating pump gear and guide it in.

I've been trying to get it back into place for a while now and still no luck.
To rotate the mating pump gear will I have to remove the idle gear cover or can I get access to it now?

Seems like it has become cocked from removing the nut.
Should still not present a big problem though.
First remove the inner basket by pulling it straight out.
It may get hung up on any grooves on the outer basket?
If so...a little wiggle here/there should get it free.
The outer basket will require removal of the bearing sleeve in the bearings center in order to move the basket to the left and clear of the cases.
Might as well remove it since the baskets nut has been removed for an inspection of what lies behind it.
Looks like it might be hung up on the shifter mechanism or rod as well.
A little light manipulation is all it should take to get it free though so patience is a virtue here.

It looks like the #4 rod is still in the way of removing the basket. I find it MUCH easier to rotate the crank until the rod is no longer blocking the teeth of the outer basket as well. That plus the notes above by should get you back and going again.

Yeah John, the #4 rod cap and bolts always seem to get in the way, right on that one brother.
