If it werent for MJ and a few other mods, this forum would of easily been no different. Thanks for keeping this place clean. Imagine how many anti gear wearing squids have been converted racers because of this forum.

And Ill admit it. If I never came across this forum when looking for my first sportbike and to learn about them, Id be all about burning down the straights fast, hitting tripple digits, doing wheelies, and working through traffic like I was playing road rash.

The only reason I happened across this forum was because I had questions about a 92' GSXR I found a deal on at the time. Other than that I was all about Kawasaki and Ninjas. I was on a kawasaki forum for 2 weeks, but Ive been here 7 years if that tells you anything about this forum.

Thanks.

Now just need to work on the aesthetically stretched bikes. Ya know the ones who claim they stretch to drag race but never actually touch a strip and only do it for looks.

You don't get this, they still are cheap...

Someone looking for a learner bike to sell on in a couple of years? They go and get a cheap second hand one, why on earth get a new one. My 1989 FZR250 cost me NZD$3500, with 11,000kms on the clock. That was one of the quickest 250's around, bar the 2 stroke 250's obviously. Thats a 4 cylinder 45hp 250, expensive compared to a single or twin 250.

Someone looking to get a nice small bike for commuting and a bit of fun? They might get a new 250 or 300, and they would keep it for a while.

For all I care anymore FL squid kids can do triple digits and crash doing wheelies in board shorts all day long wearing only Oakleys for head protection.

They won't be lining up next to me on a CCS grid any time soon so more power to them, they clearly know better and can ride than I do.

5 years at every level, with PROVABLE hours

I think thats too high and wouldnt pass. I say 1 to 2 years at each level. Your other problem is Harley Davidson and the Harley crowd. They dont make anything smaller than 800cc. That and if a group of harley riders were successful in getting a state to overturn its helmet laws, then good luck passing this.

The only work around I see for this, is a well thought out tiered system with varying CC restrictions based on type of bike. Because obviously a 800cc cruiser isnt the same as a 600cc sportbike. I think for it to work it would have to be classed by a bikes performance/purpose, not entirely by its displacement. Or we'd be in for a world of controversy.

Re: I haven found the squidlyest forum..

I dont think there should be a cc rule. I and several others I know within my riding circle were all on 600s and up before the age of 18 and we are all fine. Given we all rode smaller bikes growing up and got our licenses on smaller bikes for the first year or so. also most of us all went to the track as soon as possible also so maybe we are not typical. However stupid kids are going to be stupid, and honestly if you look at the deaths it's honestly small compared to how many ride.

Kids do the same things in the cars, they go out and race them or drive stupid and it has nothing to do with how fast the car is it has to do with them not being responsible

Very true, last month while in the canyons. Some young kid lost control of his car and went off the road. He was ok, the car however is f-Ed. This was in an Acura btw. I think an rsx. It's all in the pilots hands.

Maybe true, my first vehicle was/is a 70 el camino with a 520 hp rat motor . I never wrecked it. I knew I had to respect the car or that would be my ass. Not to mention I love what I drive .

Honda kids are the squid of 4 wheeled vehicles. They have th worst reputation when it comes to racing on public roads and driving like a maniac. I spent many many years around that scene and i`ll never look back. I guarantee he was thinking "hey i have a k20 under the hood, RACEKAR!"

i know you`ve seen it living in LA. Doesn`t California now have the harshest penalties for street racing in the United states? Last i recall yall where sending Hondas/Acuras to the crusher left and right as apart of a campaign against stuff like the canyon kid you mentioned.
