Re: Interesting things
So, we got out the whittlin' knife and started whittlin'. Did a little random pecking, too. Why not...
Preliminary shape, more shaping to be done:

Re: Interesting things
A little happier with the shape, so we made a few bits to protect the machined areas for the next step:

And, then we mixed up some noxious chemicals to give it a bath, so it might look like it's well-aged brothers. Close enough for this round-eye. You can't see the damn thing when it's installed, anyway...:

Re: Interesting things
I haven't added to this thread in a while, so here's something interesting... Some talented gents out in LA somewhere just finished mounting a ratty old muffler I had laying around onto a ratty old 1100 that I recently sold one of the members of this site. They had to make a few pieces but that's no big deal for them... You can see a pic of the whole bike on the Yosh R&D facebook page...

Re: Interesting things
If you are talking about the starter clutch cover and the ingition rotor cover, they are period Yoshimura Japan pieces made for the first generation GSX-R bikes. If you meant something else, let me know...
Still not sure what the #26 had to do with anything...

Re: Interesting things
Ahh, now I get it. The one on the left is a left side case cover for an XR55 motor and the one on the right is a right side engine case cover for a first gen factory dry clutch.
