Im pretty sure I am the only 4g certified welder by trade in here
I "unofficially" passed the black seal tests when I was in high school. I was never technically certified, but had I taken the tests I probably would have been certified back then.
I really wish I would have followed through with all the certs that I was/am capable of getting, I would be a lot better off now than I am.
BTW I can weld in any position, SMAW, GMAW or GTAW. Uphand or Down hand. as well as OAW horizontal and vertical up or down. Of course some I may be a little rusty in some, like downhand gas, but I am sure I can pick it up again really fast. I won a couple competitions and got awards for welding and fabrication when I was in school.
Unfortunately all of my on the job welding experience is undocumented except for some picture here and there, so getting back into the field is almost impossible unless I was to try to convince someone to let me make a couple passes.
I am sure with a stick in hand you are a much better welder than I am, but give me a piece of tungsten and some filler rod and I am sure I will show you a thing or 2.
Do you do any mig stuff at work? or is it all stick?

some mig, only really when I am in the shop though. I actually have a hard time doing MIG because I just do so much stick. It takes me quite a few minutes to get the rythym of mig back.
I am trying to get them to get me a suitcase mig setup, and also we are looking at a suitcase stick as well for smaller stuff.
Ive mostly forgotten how to oxyfuel weld, but I am sure I could get it back. Tig I honeslty have not had much opportunity to do it, but it would not take me long guaranteed.
I dont pretend to be an awesome welder though. My skill in welding is being able to weld shit that is garbage, in odd/awkward positions, with shitty conditions like windy and shit. That is what I do. Put me in a shop and many people can weld "prettier". But my welding is more adaptable than most. Left hand, right hand. one hand. Stinger taped to the end of a paint pole , hanging out of a rope, in the wind, spinning, overhead... water tight

Yeah, I can weld some pretty dirty shit with a MIG gun, but not in high winds. That is where stick excels. I was sure when I went to school I learned all the processes. I actually have laid down a stick bead in quite a long time.
I celebrated thanksgiving last Sunday do every year because my grandmother goes to china for a few weeks every November anyways instead I went hunting and got a wrabbit
Not gonna lie I was slightly bummed they didn't offer a deal on the chain kits. If I had known I would have ordered Monday.
I put the exact order in the cart last night and then this morning opened another window via the Black Friday drop down and there was no savings oh well still excited
Find an inmate who is on death row who has recently been found innocent but not tell him. Have authorities bring him to the lethal injection room and instead of administering lethal chemicals administer anesthesia. When he "dies" take him and bring him to a tropical island and when he wakes up he'll freak out
