National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing-car of tomorrow took the last little bit of "stock" out of the sport. It's time to rename the sport.
Rain is not a reason to stop a race, motorcyclists race in the rain, so should Nascar.
It is no longer about racing, its about sponsors. Its about money.
Feb 18 2001 was the beginning of the end, 2003 put it on it's final leg, 2007 that leg was kicked out from underneath it.

Some of the World Challenge GT cars get really close to 2Gs. The meter on the screen might not hit 2 but it gets damn well over 1.5 - at times.

I wonder if F1 drivers and crew members all talk with a southern hick accent (in their native tongue) like all NASCAR drivers do?

Very cool comparison. NASCAR car of tomorrow is now fuel injected that started this year. At Taledaga w/ out the restrictor plates they would go way over 200mph. Buddy Baker was the first driver to go 200 in NASCAR circa 1970-72

You can, but like nascar it aint what it used to be. In todays F1 over taking, driver errors, and things like engine/gearbox failures that can make a race more exciting no longer happen as often. Still more exciting than nascar, but at least nascar has more over taking going on.

Im the exact opposite I guess I find NO enjoyment watching F1 80% of the race is done in a single file, while nascar is constantly 2-3 wide and jostling for position all at 150+ while turning left!!!

Im glad they changed the regulations they made in 98 that gave all the cars a generic jellybean shape. Now they can shape the car bodies closer to their production cars. But looks is where the similarities stop. Definitely shouldnt be stock car any more.
