Thumbs up Amazing 2 hour special on the space dive

I just got done watching the 2 hour special on Nat Geo on the Red Bull space dive. They go into a lot of the back story & the technical details & training that had to be done. One of the most interesting shows I've seen in a long time.

They will be airing it again Fri at 9:00 pm on Nat Geo. Well worth a watch if you have not seen it.

My 6yr old son watched it with me. Both of us were glued to TV. Absolutely unbelievable what was accomplished! I was nervous when he opened that capsule door and all you see is space!

That had to take some huge nuts for sure. Especially after you see how hard it was for him to move in that pressure suit.

There are a few other thing I can think of that take bigger nuts. I mean he was aprehensive about the whole trip so much so that he went to theropy? They called him a pilot? He didn't pilot anything!! They fill the balloon, he got in the capsole he closed the door then he took a ride to 128,000 ft, opened the door and jumped out. At least Astronauts land the space shuttle, they can be called pilots, and I think that takes much bigger hevos.

He had issues with being in the suit & not a lot of time to get used to it. Many scuba divers have issues with the same thing, you have to get used to being all closed in & covered up. Especially in a drysuit & a full hardhat/helmet, I saw a lot of people get freaked out by that when I was instructing. I thought it made a ton of sense he did some dive traing to get used to the feeling.
