But by definition, wanting to just be content is not ambitious .
Content is pretty much the exact opposite of ambitious. So it is not that your ambition is different. By definition you have none.
For the sake of this definition.. "hard work" is not "working vigorously while at my place of employment"
am·bi·tion/amˈbiSHən/
Noun:
A strong desire to do or to achieve something, typically requiring determination and hard work.
Desire and determination to achieve success.
Synonyms:aspiration - ambitiousness - desire
Wanting to just be content, is not ambitious. Im not busting your balls, just stating a fact
[*]A strong desire to do or to achieve something, typically requiring determination and hard work.
Do I not have a strong desire to work hard every day Am I not determined to do so? And am I not willing to work as hard as I have to to be the best worker around? From where I stand I just completely filled that definition
I swear sometimes you guys make me feel like a foreigner with how different my views are than everyone elses lol. Its just confusing because my goal, what I want,(to work hard) is in the definition of ambition. So my ambition is to always have ambition. And when you say it like that it hardly makes sense at all

Maybe my definition of content was off
Completely missing the point
No. Like I said "hard work" does not mean "work vigorously where I am employed". To "achieve something" is not to earn a paycheck every day and do what you are already doing. "something" is a lofty goal. Not just keep on keeping on. What "determination" does it take to go put in a solid 8/10/12 hours? Sure some work harder than others, but that is still not "hard work" in the ambitious sense. Not in the life sense of ambtitious. Sure your review if you had one may say "ambitious" in that you want to move up in the company so you "work hard"
But that is not ambitious in life.
Staying in the same town, doing what you are doing now, for the rest of your life is content. Not ambitious.
That is your prerogative, and not necessarily anything wrong with it
Hard work is meant as putting in extra effort above and beyond the norm to achieve a goal.
Being a good worker, so you can do the same thing everyday that you are already doing is NOT ambitious. It is content. You want to keep on keeping on.
Ambitious is putting in extra effort to be able to get somewhere or do something you are not actually already doing and something that is difficult to attain from where you currently are.
And yes, you pretty much are a foreigner compared to the rest of the world. You should feel that way
I work damn hard every day. That is not ambitious. That is working.
I work hard to be the best racer I can and make a pro grid.. THAT is ambitious.
Ok. So if were gonna re think this. My goal in different terms would be to become so full of knowledge that I can do any trade job and do it well. I would like to become the top worker the company has(whatever company that may be). No desire to own a company or manage anyone. But I want my skills to be wanted and valued by a lot of people. And to get that Im going to bust my ass. Nothing wrong with enjoying the journey too is there Does that make sense?
My other goals are to own at least 40 acres and to go the Isle of man TT. You can probably relate to those better
