98 Jeep Cherokee neutral safety switch
Anyone every replace one? I am looking at advance auto and AutoZone. They have 2 switches but look different. One is $20.99 for transmission model 30RH the other is $260.99 for transmission model AW4. Big price difference. How do I know which one I need?

Holt crap, that is a hell of a price difference!!!
post up the link to what youre looking at might be that one switch might be for a 2 wheel drive system and one is for a 4 wheel system post up if this didnt help might be able to figure it out
Thanks all. Found it that the XJ's have the AW4 trans. But the good news is that most of the time, it just needs cleaning and new grease applied. I found this and will tackle it sometime soon. http://jeep-xj.info/HowtoNSSrebuild.htm
My problem has been it not starting intermittently. All lights and gauges work but no clicking or anything that resembles starting. Also I have no reverse lights. Those 2 problems equal the neutral safety switch. I will also have to properly adjust it so I get reverse lights. Should be interesting to try and do.

Thanks. From what I'm reading the can be a little trouble to get off and the adjustment can be a little tricky.
it can, adjustments are pretty sensitive with it. and while i don't preach safety, chock your wheels - i've known a cherokee to get knocked out of gear doing this repair
