Few days ago at the dyno getting a custom tune and half way through oil starts spitting out under the water pump pretty good.. I took it off and decided it was most likely the internals of the water pump. #4/5. questions is, could someone describe the tools needed and the process to disassemble this internal part to replace the internals? I have no idea.
Same here. You can probably even find a cheap used one on eBay if you want to. I replaced mine on my 2002 bike after cracking the driving shaft due to freezing water in the system.
What part do you think failed exactly to cause it to leak?
There are two seals Internally. One for the water and the other for the oil. The weep hole is in between both of them so the leak will tell you which seal is bad.
I couldnt turn the engine on, if I did the oil would be drained in 5 seconds from the bike. it was shooting out, a solid constant stream. then after off continued to drip. When taking of the coolant hoses it looked clean. The bike is an 06 and has 4000 miles. it was in storage for at least 4+ years id imagine. when I bought it 6 months ago it only had 2000 miles.
They sell the parts, but I have no idea how to get inside that piece. Looks like i might be buying a new pump.

Service manual has the procedures. It's not too difficult.

right, taking I apart wasnt bad, but #5 is still stuck inside the whole piece. Somehow it needs to come out.
Id have to say something was blown out due to the large volume of oil spewing from the hole.
In the end I believe it was too much oil in the case causing too much pressure
maybe the op should also check the air box at that point. but even thru the weep hole it
couldn't just spit out oil that fast. im lost.... OP if you could post up pics of the bike
and how the oil was coming out and what not might make it easier for the rest of us
trying to help to get a better understanding of how the oil was pissing out like you
said...
right, To clarify, the bike was overfilled with oil and I knew that and thought not much of it. thinking excess oil would simply be vented out. I didnt think it was a sealed system, but the guy running the dyno seemed to think so. It has been sitting for a very long time and bouncing up to rev limiter multiple times is what I believe caused the pump to go. what I have never done.
Started with a few drips off the bottom screw of the pump, then a solid stream from what I saw directly above that bottom screw, but behind the pump. Only makes sense it was the weep hole.
Now if only I could remove #5 and replace #4/5/8/9. I would be set.
trying to go the cheapest route here and avoid buying one time bearing puller tools..
