Hey guys and gals, just purchased a GSXR600 and am looking for some tips/suggestions on buying a new helmet. Leaning towards an Arai because of quality. Appreciate any help!

Best bang for the buck by far in my opinion is the HJC RPS10 or RPHA10.

It is as good or better than the Arai quantum or the Shoei RF1100, and way cheaper.

Having worn several (including Arai and SHOEI), IMO the Bell RS-1 and Star helmets are the most comfortable and best ventilating helmets i have ever worn...by far.

I think the RS-1 is the best bang-for-the-buck helmet on the planet. It is more comfortable, better ventilating and the quality is on par with, if not better than, the $8-900 helmets...at less than 1/2 the price.

I have some Arai's on closeout and always give GDC members the best deals on Bell. I love my Bell and thats what everyone in the shop wears. Let me know if I can help you out.

finally got a helmet! Ended up purchasing an Arai helmet from a local shop called the Helmet Harbor...they have a website as well http://www.helmetharbor.com/ if anyone is looking for helmets! Thanks again for all the help fellas

Nah they are good helmets, but there are a lot of things I dont like about them.

Until they change the design of the Visor system, i will never...ever...wear another Arai. Ever.

It is absolutely the most aggravating thing in the Universe.

Of course, then there is that whole thing about them being twice as expensive as a Bell RS-1, while being less comfortable and providing less ventilation.

But other than that, they are really good helmets.

or that for me the buffeted at high speeds a bit when coming out of the bubble, and had more wind noise... but good helmets

Sadly, that helmet was stolen in '95 and I loved that helmet, Kevin Schwantz replica.
