Re: Boredz V49 - Canucks optional :P

I was reading a write up on changing the clutch on a t56 and it looks like its exactly the same as when i swapped the clutch in the t5 in my 85 z28. It took me about 2-3 hrs. Some people are saying that it took them 10 hrs to do the clutch swap. How can this be? Complete idiots?

I remember thinking that it was easy as fuck. Hell i've swapped out the clutch in a fwd nissan in under 10 hrs. Now htat was a bitch since i had to pretty much remove all front end components.

I've also never bled a clutch before. Any tips? similar to bleeding brakes?

It should be as straightforward as the iroc. Some people are just hesitant when working on things like that and have no mechanical understanding.... Then you have people who take a lot of brakes..or include the time they spend driving to town to get parts..etc.'//

i'm just trying to get a second set of hands to help lower and lift the trans. My friend will be at work. Thankfully i assked since i just "assumed" that he'd assist since he offered for me to fix it there and drive it home.

As long as you are on pavement or something so you can roll the jack with the trans easily you can do it alone. I have had to do most of mine in the dirt or a gravel driveway... and usually on 4x4s.
