Part it. You can make a little more $ being such low miles... Both my 01 and 02 gsxr sold for 2500 (w/ 36I and 24I on em), I prob wouldn't have been able to get much more as this generation is done a dozen and my 02 had cracked up fairings.

I wouldn't count on that mileage being true. Any real race bike has had the speedo sensor unplugged / removed. At let's say 100 miles per track day, that would mean that bitch has only been to the track 2-3 times a year for 10 years?
Would a AMA Race bike actually have a stock speedo on it ? Don't most race teams switch out the speedo for a race tach of some sort even in 2002 ? I would think an actual AMA race bike would be worth a lot more than 2400 bucks. The engine alone would probably be worth 10k. Pretty sure this is someones Idea of a race replica . So it has nothing really special on it . If I changed my bodywork out to something similar I could call it an AMA race bike too. An I would be lieing out of my ass .
"Well hopefully its something as simple as reversing the shift linkage, we'll probably never know. He's probably out side slapping puppies and kittens bout now. "
I saw it and thought it was an interesting bike. Looked like it had some goodies on it but I was wondering why it was so cheap. Figured the low price was because of the title issue yet seemingly high mileage for a back up bike. Looks like the fairings were somewhat damaged and the gas tank as well unless it is just the lighting.
As prior mentioned I thought there may be some goodies in the motor but I was curious what everyone had to say about it.

if you are looking for a track beater at $2500 you couldnt go wrong. If you are looking to part it out and make some money I doubt you would make more than $500 and it would probably take you 6-8 months (I've parted out two of these bikes and the race parts dont sell - I sold that Ohlins shock about 6 months ago for $200 and I was lucky to get that).
The only part on that bike that is decent is the triples, you could probably fetch $500 or just keep them (it is a super trick part).
At this point in the game the only thing worth anything on our bikes are the fairings, tank and headlight if they are OEM and mint. Not many people are picking up decade old bikes and shopping for aftermarket goodies.
if i was only interested in track days, keep. competition, sell. those components are getting harder to come-by for replacements upon crash/wear-out, unless there was a class for 10 year old bikes. sure it is still competitive, but the maintenance required for the performance is not a ratio i am interested in.
